1. My family left here a few weeks ago and spent some time in San Diego with more of the fam. It was such a treat to have them here! We really tried to make the most of our time with them and take them to see all sorts of sights. Hopefully we'll be able to make the trip to Mexicow ourselves soon to visit them.
2. Thankfully the clinical situation has been sorted out! I will be at two clinics in Enumclaw and Bonney Lake in the Fall for my Outpatient, Valley Medical Center Children's Therapy in the Winter for my Rehab and Emanuel Hospital in Portland in the Spring for my Acute...then, graduation! I can't believe how fast time is flying.
3. Speaking of flying time, I only have two weeks left in the classroom. Hard to believe after all of the slaving away for two whole years, it's nearly time to say goodbye classroom learning and hello to one-on-one patient learning, which of course is where all the real learning and honing of skills happens.
4. I've been getting more and more into being aware of what foods I'm eating and trying to integrate more fruits and veggies, especially fresh ones into my diet. I'm planning on going blueberry picking on Monday, should be fun, and I can't wait to eat the results.
5. We're planning our Girls Retreat and I think it's going to be a powerful weekend. I always love this retreat because we get to really break into those issues that girls struggle with the most and helpi them find redemption and peace. Pray for us August 21st and 22nd
6. It's in the 60s outside in August, but I am thankful for the relief from the heat! We struggled through 100+ degree weather for several days a couple of weeks ago and in the land of little airconditioning, it was not much fun :( I've never seen heat like this in Seattle before and while I miss the sunshine, I'll stick to the cooler temps.
7. I've been reaping the benefits of fresh herbs planted earlier this year. We've had fresh basil, oregano, mint, cilantro and parsley to enjoy. There is nothing better than eating what comes straight from your garden. It makes me excited to eventually get my own place and start a little garden of my own, even if it's in a few containers on a balcony - yum!
